He has really improved this year and he is the guy they [selectors] need to really look after and play in the next couple of one-day series to get him to the World Cup.
He is a bloke who can win a World Cup for Australia - he is that good.
I am happy to see it scrapped because it was a pain in the backside. It was just unfair because whoever won the toss had a major advantage.
I thought he would definitely have gone.
I'd hope they would give him (Gillespie) another go but, if they were to replace him, I would replace him with the youth of Tait,
If Glenn [McGrath] doesn't go to South Africa Jason [Gillespie] is a must. He has been there twice before and done well. If they don't take him then I think it's the wrong mix. They need some experience there. Brett [Lee] has held up magnificently but if Glenn wasn't there you would need some experience.

If we had held our chances and fielded a bit better we would have won the game quite comfortably.
It was a good pitch - a great cricket wicket. It should have been an after-tea day-four game, really. Both teams didn't play as well as they should have.
It's better to be top than chasing it. NSW managed to beat us on the fourth day in Sydney after winning the toss with the whole Test side, so I wouldn't mind playing them without the Test side, put it that way.
It's how you should play cricket. They did the right thing declaring at tea and we set a total they can get if they play very well.
It's not a great (pitch). There's a lot of cracks in it, but it's not a 114 (wicket). It's a 250 (wicket).
Matthew has stood up day in and day out for England over the past couple of years.
Not at all, mate . . . I can't say anything.
They played very well (but) we missed a couple of chances, and dropped Clarke,
We are close to being in the finals of the one-day competition and we still can't get anyone in the Australian side. We have one of the leading run-scorers [Mark Cosgrove] and blokes who are getting wickets.
