 We take them to another level of knowledge after the students already have some driving experience on their own, teaching them additional driving techniques and an understanding of what that several-thousand-pound hunk of metal is doing under the simple laws of physics.

 We're trying to give participants the tools to prevent many crashes, by giving them a much better understanding of what their personal cars are or are not capable of doing in terms of turning and braking — things they were never shown in driver's ed. More importantly, we're teaching the students how to recognize when they are putting a car at its limits and what to do about it.

 What form is that verification process going to take? We really don't know at this point.
