(The Badgers) do a great job of containment defense. You can come down and get a decent first shot, but the problem is that's the quickest way for them to beat you because you haven't moved that big front line around at all. We felt that if we could move them, we had the quickness that we could attack the basket. I think we did that well. |
A great win for us. |
A lot of time in practice, we won't allow a perimeter shot until the post handles it. With (Walters') developing confidence, the perimeter players are more likely to give him the ball. Now they are really confident he is going to be able to finish the play. |
After long and serious deliberation, the men's basketball staff has dismissed Chris Rodgers, effective immediately, from the team. It should be noted that Chris has earned his college degree in three and a half years and that we wish him much success in all future endeavors. |
All of us have been disappointed a lot in how our teams have played in some cases. There were losses to much lesser teams. |
All we know is that it's a foot problem. But beyond that, we don't know anything until we get back. |
And it's not a case where those losses are quickly forgotten by the (NCAA Tournament) selection committee. |
ASU came out of the locker room really well. They were beating us down the court with their big guys. |
ASU was more physical on the boards early than we were. But I thought our guys recovered very well. |
At that point we had no choice - we had to make defensive stops. |
At the start, we were everyone's favorite and we made a mistake in not playing the Sisters of the Poor and some of the others instead of Connecticut, Michigan State and Kansas and the people that we played. |
At the start, we were everyone's favorites. Then we made the mistake of not playing the 'Little Sisters of the Poor' early. |
Basically, their big men may be outside, their guards may be posting up, so you have to be able to defend them all over the court. |
Both teams played really well. It's hard for any team to lose a game when you compete like they did. |
But I'm not shocked that Tom Tolbert can't, ... He never got up and down the court. |
