(Caron) plays really well against (Carolina). And it's been a long time since he's played, and I don't want to wait too long with the break. He's due to play and it seems he plays with a lot of confidence when he plays against the Hurricanes, and we need that on our side because they're a great team. |
After the morning skate (today), we'll make a decision. |
All around, it was not a bad game. I thought the effort was there. |
All the teams I've coached, we've always had the standings, to make the guys realize [their situation]. |
Another tough one to swallow. |
Anyone with good character wants to give it another shot. |
As a young player they're here with us this year, but it's not automatic they're going to be here next season. Our goal is not to pick up the first pick overall season after season. It's to improve. Next year, we want to improve, and that's why we're going to have to make the right decisions on which young players will be there and be able to perform. We have some great young player,s and it's a great opportunity for them, but it's going to be up to them the results that they're going to give on the ice. |
Conditioning wise, we are behind and until this team is in good shape, I think they will have to play a lot better. When we are in good shape we will play better and make better decisions. |
Definitely we miss Mario on the power play, but he's not there. |
Even strength, we were pretty good against this team. |
Eventually I want to get back as head coach of an NHL team; that's my goal. I'd rather be a head coach in the AHL than an assistant in the NHL. |
Every time they got a shot, it was a quality shot. It's a tough game for the goalie to play. (Fleury) made some good saves and was there when we needed him. |
Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, that first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, and that's a good sign. |
Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, the first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, so that's a good sign. Physically, we didn't back down. They were physical, and we were physical. But they have experienced players, and we have a lot of young players. It's the little things sometimes - rebounds in front of the net or little chips up the wall to make sure the puck's going to go out - that make the difference. But our guys really worked hard tonight. |
Finally, we get the last laugh against those guys because it's been a lot of times this year where the games were tight. If there's a guy you want to make sure has the puck on a 2-on-1, it's Sidney Crosby, and he made the perfect play. |
