. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game. |
a lot of people are going to be disappointed we didn't move the ball the way we normally do, and (they are going to be) disappointed in the final score. |
A lot of their running plays are still the same runs, but they changed a lot of formation and personnel groups, ... It looks like they've changed the quarterback's reads and they're getting rid of the ball a little bit faster. (But) whenever you have McNair, you're going to have your hands full. |

Actually, I thought the offense, looking at the tape, played better than the defense, |
Actually, Warren and I are contemporary's and neither one of us got drafted. Warren took a little different path; he went to Canada and played, whereas I changed positions. It's nice to see that a guy with Warren Moon's ability nowadays doesn't have to go to Canada or doesn't have to prove himself in some other way. From that standpoint we have made progress. To see Warren get in the Hall of Fame is another step; to see an African-American quarterback in the Hall of Fame would be fantastic. |
After the first one, it wasn't too bad, ... It took a long time to get that first one. After three weeks, it seemed like every week was 10 or 12 days. |
And one game, as we know, can cost you a lot. |
Anything short of 50 will be a disappointment. |
As he got a little older, like all teenagers, he was searching for who that person was inside of him. |
As soon as I saw it I smiled, because I knew that's what he was responding to. |
Baltimore is very physical. They run the ball very well. they pound it. They've got an improved groups of receivers. Defensively, they do a lot of things. They have very good personnel and they're physical. It's going to be a tough, rough game. |
Bob looked fine. He told me last night that he intends to play, so we'll see. It's a big game, the national spotlight, so I think it will be tough to keep him out of there. |
Brian knows how to get his teams ready to win, and he's going to play to his strengths, |
But anybody who is hurt at all, or at risk, will not play, |
