Jag ber er inte om rikedom i gengäld för det; min belöning är endast hos Allah, och jag kommer inte att driva bort de som tror; sannerligen ska de möta sin Herre, men jag anser er vara ett okunnigt folk: / Och, o mitt folk! vem kommer att hjälpa mig mot Allah om jag driver bort dem? Kommer ni inte att tänka på det? / Och jag säger inte till er att jag har Allahs skatter, och jag känner inte det osynliga, och jag säger inte att jag är en ängel, och jag säger inte om dem som era ögon ser ned på att Allah aldrig kommer att skänka dem något gott-- Allah vet bäst vad som finns i deras själar-- för då skulle jag sannerligen vara av de orättvisa."
en He said: O my people! tell me if I have with me clear proof from my Lord, and He has granted me mercy from Himself and it has been made obscure to you; shall we constrain you to (accept) it while you are averse from it? / And, O my people! I ask you not for wealth in return for it; my reward is only with Allah and I am not going to drive away those who believe; surely they shall meet their Lord, but I consider you a people who are ignorant: / And, O my people! who will help me against Allah if I drive them away? Will you not then mind? / And I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah and I do not know the unseen, nor do I say that I am an angel, nor do I say about those whom your eyes hold in mean estimation (that) Allah will never grant them (any) good-- Allah knows best what is in their souls-- for then most surely I should be of the unjust.

And had there not been Allah's repelling some people by others, certainly there would have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques in which Allah's name is much remembered; and surely Allah will help him who helps His cause; most surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

en And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed; / And that you should judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires, and be cautious of them, lest they seduce you from part of what Allah has revealed to you; but if they turn back, then know that Allah desires to afflict them on account of some of their faults; and most surely many of the people are transgressors.
