The LORD hear thee ordspråk

Herren höre dig på nödens dag, Jakobs Guds namn må försvara dig! / Må han sända dig hjälp från sitt heliga tempel och stärka dig från Sion! / Må han komma ihåg alla dina offergåvor och ta emot din brännoffering. Selah.

The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; / Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; / Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others.

Då skall de rättfärdiga svara honom: Herre, när såg vi dig hungrig och gav dig att äta, eller törstig och gav dig att dricka? / När såg vi dig som en främling och bjöd in dig, eller naken och klädde dig? / Eller när såg vi dig sjuk eller i fängelse och kom till dig? / Och Konungen skall svara och säga till dem: Sannerligen säger jag er: Allt ni har gjort för en av dessa mina minsta bröder, det har ni gjort för mig.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? / When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? / Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? / And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Och dina förödmjukares söner ska komma och buga sig för dig, och alla de som föraktade dig ska kasta sig ner vid dina fötter, och de ska kalla dig: Herrens stad, Sions, den Heliges stad.

The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Men så säger HERREN, som skapade dig, Jakob, och han som formade dig, Israel: Frukta inte, ty jag har förlöst dig, jag har kallat dig vid ditt namn, du är min.

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Och jag vill göra dig till en mur av polerad mässing för detta folk, och de ska kämpa mot dig, men de ska inte segra över dig. Ty jag är med dig för att rädda dig och befria dig, säger HERREN.

And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Alla de skördeoffer av de heliga gåvorna som Israels barn frambär Herren, har jag gett dig och dina söner och dina döttrar med dig, till en evig stadga: det är en evig förbundssalt inför Herren, med dig och ditt avkomma.

All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.

Vad ska jag ta med mig som vittnesbörd för dig? Vad ska jag likna dig vid, du dotter till Jerusalem? Vad ska jag jämföra dig med, för att trösta dig, du jungfru dotter till Sion? Ty din brist är stor som havet: vem kan läka dig? / Dina profeter har sett fåfänga och dåraktiga ting för dig, och de har inte upptäckt din ondska för att vända bort din fångenskap; utan de har sett falska bördor och orsaker till landsförvisning för dig.

What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee? / Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade: / Säg till Aron och hans söner: Så skall ni välsigna Israels barn och säga till dem: / Herren välsigne dig och bevare dig: / Herren låte sitt ansikte lysa över dig och vara dig nådig: / Herren vände sitt ansikte mot dig och give dig frid.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, / Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, / The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: / The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: / The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Frukta inte, Jakob, min tjänare, säger Herren, ty jag är med dig. Jag skall göra en fullständig ände på alla de nationer dit jag har drivit dig, men jag skall inte göra en fullständig ände på dig, utan tukta dig i mått, och jag skall inte lämna dig helt ostraffad.

Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.

Och HERREN sade till Gideon: "Folket är ännu för många; för dem ned till vattnet, och jag skall pröva dem där för dig. Och det skall ske, att den jag säger till dig: 'Denne skall gå med dig', han skall gå med dig, och den jag säger till dig: 'Denne skall icke gå med dig', han skall icke gå."

And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

Dagar skall komma över dig då dina fiender kastar en vall runt dig och belägrar dig på alla sidor och hindrar dig från att komma ut. Och de skall lägga dig jämnt med marken, och dina barn med dig, och de skall inte lämna sten på sten kvar i dig, eftersom du inte kände din besöketid.

For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, / And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Och Jonathan sade till David: "Herre, Israels Gud, när jag har provat min fader i morgon eller på den tredje dagen, och om det visar sig vara något gott om David, då ska jag sända bud till dig och låta dig veta. Om Herren gör så med Jonathan, och mycket mer! Men om min fader vill dig ont, då ska jag låta dig veta och skicka dig iväg, så att du kan gå i frid. Herren vare med dig, såsom han har varit med min fader."

And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee; / The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.

Se, jag är emot dig, du förintande berg, säger Herren, som förintar hela jorden. Och jag vill sträcka ut min hand mot dig och välta dig från klipporna och göra dig till ett bränt berg.

Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.

Gud skall på samma sätt fördärva dig för evigt, han skall rycka bort dig och dra dig ut ur din boningsplats och rycka upp dig ur de levandes land. Sela.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Du ropade i nöden, och jag räddade dig; jag svarade dig i åskans hemliga ort; jag prövade dig vid Meribas vatten. Selah.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.
