Ramsey has a nice delivery and the ball comes out of his hand really well. It's hard because they're all throwing to guys they're not familiar with. But he was impressive. I hesitate to say anybody helps or hurts themselves in this environment, but I'm sure he helped himself with some teams. Ramsey could indeed jump into that No. 3 position. It does feel like we're starting over in a sense, because it is going to be a new team. A younger team even than when I got here [in 1999]. Or at least potentially.

I'll say this. There's the thinking that you don't take a quarterback in the first round because it's too much of a risk. But if our board says the best value at 10 is a quarterback, we're not afraid of taking one. Likewise, we've never reached for need. If there's a higher-rated player at 10, with one of the [top three] quarterbacks still available, we'll take the higher-rated player. We will stay true to the value of the 10th pick.

You give a coach, any coach, a player for two years, let's say,

Whether it's opportunity, whether it's maturity on their part, all of a sudden they hit it. Some never do. It's just one of those positions that's very unique.

Fault? For what? They said they got the player they wanted. We got the player we wanted, plus. Sounds like life turned out pretty good.

Well, if quarterback drops start going to 40 yards, then we're going to be concerned. As long as they stay in that 10-yard level, we're going to be OK.
