It just woke up in us this morning. It was like boom, the first game we got going and then in the (Temple) game we got going. I think Caroline Witte had a lot to do with it because she's been running the bases aggressively and getting after it.

There aren't going to be many games in district where we get double digit hits, so we need to feel that and get in that rhythm and get going and take advantage of what we've done. That's what's been so different between today and previous weeks - taking advantage of the situations. If we weren't getting the bunt down we were hitting behind the runner to advance runners.

I expect so much out of her. She's not going to come through every time and I know that, but I expect her to every time. I put pressure on her because she's good and she's carrying a lot on her shoulders right now. Catcher is a pretty demanding position in my mind and I stay on her pretty hard, and putting her in the three hole, when we have runners in scoring position I expect her to drive them in every time.

She kept it outside and they couldn't handle it. She didn't do anything tricky. She just tried to get ahead of them and stay outside and mix in a few change-ups and a few other pitches.

She's minimizing her mistakes and she's starting to understand what a mistake is. She's learning how to pitch, and she's got the tools and the pitches to be a good pitcher if she just minimizes her mistakes and learns how to pitch.

Kyle has the right demeanor where he can focus on what he has to focus on. He's not afraid to speak up at all. It's hard to distinguish between what is really good advice and when somebody is just trying to help their own position out. He knows that.

Last year we lost games, and it really didn't seem like there was a lot of hope for getting better. This year there was a feeling that this is something we can overcome. The confidence is still there. We feel like we can be a real good offensive football team.

He showed that he's very confident in his body. He didn't show any hesitancy with his knee. His arm is as strong and as quick as ever, and his accuracy has definitely improved. If anything, he looks better now than he did a year ago.

It's hard. There are things that we can teach him and show him, but he's going to have to go out and actually experience those on the field.

I'm definitely concerned. [Williams] is a good player to start with, and if he has that extra edge, or Olin is banged up ... I'm all for not playing my guy if the front guy isn't playing. [Williams] could do something out of meanness. It's definitely a concern.

We had a couple run-ins.

You'd like to have (experience), but it's not necessary. The biggest thing we have is having the home game because going on the road and being inexperienced can be more difficult. But you can do it on the road, too, with no experience. I thought the whole experience thing was overrated, but I just wanted to play.

To have those guys with some experience, they can relate to other guys what to expect as the intensity goes up.

To say we're last [in the NFC] now after one game, I don't think that means a lot. To give it a fair assessment, you would have to wait until midseason to see where we rank. We'll get better. That was certainly the feeling in the locker room.
