More than 60 percent of our funding comes from local individuals, churches, businesses, organizations and the Bucyrus Area United Way and 40 percent comes from grants and fundraisers that we hold. Also, while we are a nonprofit organization and do not charge the parents of our children who use the program, we do ask them to make a pledge. One mom gives us the change out of the bottom of her purse a few times a month and that is fine. We want any child who wants to attend the program to be able to and that is another concern about having to move. With the decent amount of room we have now, we still have 20 children on a waiting list. If we have less room at a new location, that will mean less children can attend. We do not want to see that happen.

By participating in the program you have a list of fun activities to participate in right in front of you. You don't have to sit in your dorm room looking for something to do. The Bobcat Passport program is an important way to challenge students to broaden their perspectives by having to go to one thing in each category. A student might attend something that they wouldn't normally attend, and find out that they like it.

Project 7th Grade is making a positive difference in the lives of kids. The recent Arizona State University study found that 75 percent of participating parents felt that the program likely improved their family's communication about the harmful effects of drugs, and nearly 75 percent of the parents surveyed felt the program likely helped deter their children from using them. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. Adding the prescription drug element into this program will further enhance its reach and benefit to parents and teenagers.

[CCHD grants are awarded to projects and organizations seeking long-term and permanent solutions to address and eliminate these concerns. This year's grants will fund 315 local projects in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Poor nutrition and illness cause students to miss school more often and to be less prepared to learn when they attend.
