This year for us, there have been more changes than we've been accustomed to. You can sit here and make excuses and say, 'Wow, we're really going to have a hard time.' But you know what? Times change. Every team is different from year to year.

It's an adjustment; it's a lot different than back home. My role has changed a lot from last year to this year. I averaged 20 points a game last year but this year I have to score a lot more.

We learned from last year. Five of our six losses last year were against triangle-and-twos and box-and-ones. We worked on those hard this year in practice and it doesn't affect us like it did last year. It was a total team effort by all of them.

We've worked so hard all year. We were ready. The competition in this region was really tough, as it is every year, so this is a great honor.

It's just the fact of having the kids be a year older, a year in the weight room, and a year of just being familiar with me and the staff and the program's philosophy and expectations. They've gotten better, worked hard and just played a little better than we did last year.

We had a great season. They worked really hard this year. We did a lot better than what we did last year, and we're going to have a better year next year. Last year I wasn't too prepared. I was ready for the game, but I was not as calm as I wanted to be. I'm trying not to think about last year. I just want to focus on this year.

This is big for these girls. They worked hard, and I tried to make them aware of how close they were last year ... and they really wanted to do well, so I didn't think the nine days we had off hurt us from that perspective because they were really ready to play.
