We knew they didn't ordspråk

en We knew they didn't set the middles all that much and that's one of our weaker points, be able to block the middle. They dug a lot of balls and we weren't able to step it up with our passing.

en Our middles didn't do much the last time we played them. In our previous two matches (against Lee), Haley had 16 kills and our other two middles each had one, so we doubled our middle totals because that's something Lee hadn't seen before. They were worried about our outside hitters because they had a field day before.

en We don't have a proven go-to middle yet. However, we have good middles. It's just that we don't know who's going to step up and take ownership of the position.

en This was a big win because we had two talented, evenly matched teams that mirror each other in terms of style of play. The difference tonight was our serve-receive passing. We didn't block a lot of balls, but we made adjustments that worked out.

en The first three innings weren't as good as it looked. The balls were down the middle and they hit some balls pretty hard.

en If this is driven by pedestrian safety, then I think that is a false concern. I cross the street daily in the middle of the block. If you step out along the edge of the cars, you don't stand there long. Maybe two or three cars pass, then one stops and then the other lane stops. That's in the middle of the block where they don't have to stop.

en We had no answer for their middles. The Big 12 has a lot of middles like that, so we're going to have to find an answer. We can't go one-on-one - we need to do it by committee. I think we matched up well with them everywhere but in the middle.

en She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. We just didn't make very good pitches in key situations. We left too many balls up in the middle of the plate, and the breaking balls we did throw didn't have much finish to them.

en We teach the girls to be aggressive and block aggressive. On the other hand, they have great people behind them, passing the ball and setting the ball. Our middles did a great job tonight, but it would of not happened without the whole team.

en They had one or two moves, it was the same exact thing, but my girls weren't picking up on it. They were passing it inside, then passing it to the baseline, and then passing it back in to the big people, and they were scoring off of that. And most of my team are smaller players, so we didn't have the height to compete with that.

en It's always competitive. We knew it wasn't going to be a roll over. When they pushed some balls deep, we didn't cover them well and they hit some line shots we weren't prepared for.

en A lot of our shots weren't even close (in the second half) ? we had a couple of air balls. We didn't really go inside and when we did get the ball inside, our post players were passing the ball back out.

en We weren't trying to slow him down, we were trying to shut him out. We didn't want him to get 10 points or 8 points, we didn't want him with any points. We threw everything at him and he still scored double figures. That just shows what kind of player he is.

en A sleep. They just weren't very physical, they weren't alive. They didn't get any loose balls and every time we turned around they (Bluff) were trying to double us and we didn't see the open people... they were just not with it. And that type of play will get you beat.

en People might wonder why we weren't up there taking a pitch in the seventh. Well, if you get first pitch fastball down the middle, we're going to hack. The disappointing part was we didn't get on top of the ball and hit ground balls and line drives the last couple of innings.
