Mer information om detta ordspråk och citat! Intill denna dag handlar de efter forna seder, de fruktar inte HERREN, inte heller handlar de efter hans stadgar eller hans förordningar, eller efter den lag och det bud som HERREN befallde Jakobs barn, som han kallade Israel; / med vilka HERREN hade slutit ett förbund och befallt dem och sagt: Ni ska inte frukta andra gudar, inte buga er för dem, inte tjäna dem och inte offra till dem: / Utan HERREN, som förde er upp ur Egyptens land med stor kraft och en utsträckt arm, honom ska ni frukta, honom ska ni tillbe och till honom ska ni offra.
