Usually we can carry ordspråk

en Usually we can carry momentum over. Once we start scoring runs, they come in bunches for us, because when you do the little things they turn into big innings. That didn't happen today. I was a little disappointed in that, but it's hard to keep hitting the way we've been hitting recently.

en We are fairly disappointed in today's effort. Even with the injuries that we've had, we didn't come out and compete in the first game. I told the team that we can't 'turn it off and turn it on.' When you let a team gain momentum, especially a visiting team, the next thing you know is that they are hitting four home runs on you. I feel that that is unacceptable for the caliber of team that we have.

en The defense was there, but we just never got the clutch hit all weekend. We out-hit almost every opponent and lost three games. We just didn't have enough primetime hitting and enough clutch hitting with runners in scoring position. The team played hard, but it just didn't happen today.

en From what I saw in Spring Training, we were scoring runs and guys were hitting the ball pretty hard, and it showed tonight. I was hearing from a lot of people that we didn't score a lot of runs, so I think we shocked a lot of people today.

en We got some timely hitting there at the end. We've got some good hitters, eight girls hitting over .300, but we've had some trouble scoring runs. We want to get to the point where they're all hitting .300 at the same time.

en We played well for six out of the seven innings. We were hitting the ball and (Oswego) made some really good catches. Our hitting needs to improve as well as our defense. We had six errors which led to seven runs. But, we did OK for our first game.

en We're coming on after a little bit of a slow start. We're hitting the ball hard. We're doing more situational hitting in practice, working on hitting in certain counts. Overall, it's just more of a focus up at the plate.

en Our kids have been swinging the bats all year long. Five of them are hitting at least .500 and before today, Eric was hitting .730 and he's got six home runs now. He's driven in 11 runs and has at least 13 stolen bases.

en We hit the ball hard the first two innings right at Wayne. If you keep hitting the ball hard, good things will happen.
