en The wait hasn't done anything to my confidence. On the contrary, it has made me hungrier to get on the field and prove to the coaches that I deserve to play. When that time comes I will be happy with whatever the coaches decide because I am here to fight for this jersey, which is what I have done everywhere I've been.

en I can sit here and think of a million reasons why it hasn't happened, ... I believe it's coming. No, it hasn't been fast enough. At the same time, I would hate to see a league with half African-American coaches ... if they're not good coaches.

en It's exciting because we're going to be able to go out on the field and do what we like to do. Just as much as the players love to get out there and play, coaches do as well. It's an exciting time and we can't wait to get out there.

en I made that adjustment, with a lot of work from myself and the coaches. But the coaches aren't telling me not to run. I have the green light. I just have to find that [happy medium].

en It definitely gets competitive. A lot of it's about pride, in proving individually that you can play, that you deserve to be out on the field. Then a lot of it is coming together as a Scarlet or Gray team and going out there against the guys who you play with every day and in front of the fans and coaches.

en I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better.

en I can put a perspective on it and I can understand the dilemma for the coaches, but I'm a competitor and I want to play. I feel I deserve every chance to prove myself and to play. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. But I do realize there's somebody I'm competing with who happens also to be a pretty good quarterback. I'm just trying to control what I can control and not let anything else bring me down or frustrate me.

en He is going to be a very big-time running back for the Buckeyes. I keep telling him to keep his nose clean, go to class, listen to the coaches. I don't hear anything from the coaches up there (at OSU), so I know he's doing a good job off the field.

en If you polled all 14 coaches (in the tournament), I bet they'd all say that they were just happy to get out and play, and not have to drain a darn field.

en I was surprised (at the amount of job openings). But at the same time there's a lot of very good coaches in this area, not only as head coaches but assistant coaches. So it was just a matter of them finding the right fit and moving forward. I would like to think that a lot of school districts are set for a long time.

en What we stress from Day 1 is that we play hard until the final out, ... All coaches said it, in some form. Football coaches say, 'Play four quarters.' Basketball coaches say, 'Play 48 minutes.' We say, 'Play nine hard innings.'

en If you decide to add football it is important to hire good coaches. It is important to have all coaches work together. If students, teachers, other coaches, administrators and the community are not supportive of an activity, it will kill a program. I feel like anything we add will be a plus for the kids and the community.

en I don't want to say it's a sense of relief. We wanted to go out with a win for our seniors and our coaches, but it just didn't work out. It's sad to see all these coaches go. Every guy out here loves these coaches and what they've done for us. But at the same time, the program is going in a new direction.

en It's an honor to play in this game. They're the top two coaches of all time in wins (a combined 712). We're probably never going to see two coaches with that many going against each other again.

en I'm not going to blame it on all the (North Carolina) coaches. I have my share of [fault]. I probably didn't listen, run the right hole or I tried to do more than the play was supposed to be. I'll take all that credit. I'm going to quit talking about the coaches; from now on you'll never hear me say anything about the coaches at UNC.
