The last three or four games, Jon has been very good for us. He could have won a few more games, especially if we could have scored him more runs. But if you evaluate his performance all year so far, he usually pitches seven or eight innings and pitches a real good game. And any time we can score him runs, he can win a game for us.

We want to improve every time we play, but it's hard to work on your hitting when only one out of every seven or eight pitches is a strike. He has electric stuff. Having electric stuff is one thing, but he knows how to use it. It's a difficult situation. I've always taught the guys to hang tough in tough times, and they have. I'm looking forward to getting back. It's going to be good to see them again.

Generational transitions within parties are always tough. I think Ed represents change that is difficult for a lot of people to accept. But it's good change.
