We've got to make some free throws. We've shot ourselves in the foot time and time again at the foul line. We're getting 30 free throws per game. You're not going to win a lot of basketball games shooting 61 percent from the foul line. We've got to shoot it better in every phase.

It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. Young teams sometimes just need time to learn how to win. It's a process and the frustrating thing is that it's been something different doing us in every game. Our foul shooting's been 54 percent in the five losses so that's been one constant but we've lost three of them by 4 points or less. It's hard enough to win and you lose the close games when you can't do things like make free throws.

Obviously, our free throws hurt us and we need to do a better job of that. You can't win big games against great teams if you shoot like that from the foul line.

Every time you turned around, there was a foul. Free throws, free throws. Maybe one or two baskets, then free throws again. It just slowed the whole game down, big time.

Those free throws at the end of the first half hurt. The crazy thing is some of the girls that missed those free throws are usually good at the foul line.

Free-throw shooting is a lost art. It's not as good as it once was, and maybe it is because coaches are limited with how much time they can dedicate to free throws in practice and kids don't really work on them on their own as much as they should. Foul shots aren't flashy, but they certainly win games, and we try to stress that to our guys. Especially at tournament time.

We didn't make our free throws. It's pretty simple. We didn't convert at the free-throw line - that's the equivalent of a turnover (each time). It's about making shots you need to make. You have got to make free throws to win games. And without defensive rebounding you're not going to win.
