en It's always fantastic to be in first place. Our opening-round score is better than it was last year, but a 19-stroke lead is not insurmountable. I feel as a team we have not played to our capacity. We hope to be able to come out, play well and increase our lead ... continue to improve to remain in first place.

en I told the kids, this is the form that we have to play -- one, establish defense and getting after them full court. We got the rebounds, were able to run in transition and score some baskets that way. We played smarter with the ball with the lead, and that was really important to us. We have to continue to build on that, just improve each round and try to move on.

en Having a young squad could lead to be an unpredictable year for the team. But in the past, those types of years have proven to be good ones. These guys are dedicated, hard working and hungry to play lacrosse. Obviously we hope to improve upon last year's successful 10-7 season. This year will be a true test for our program.

en I wanted to play a good team from a different region. It's a TV game. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. We played at Connecticut this year, and we're going to play them at our place next year. After this one, Washington is coming to our place.

en That was his best score this season. I was very pleased with the way Kyle played. He is capable of playing that well or even better every time he plays. It's kind of a breakthrough for him this year and I hope he continues to play well. The rest of the team didn't play up to expectations and I'm sure they will all improve.

en We know we're not just a 2-14 team. We just have to remember how to win. And remember how to hold on to the lead and continue to improve once you have the lead. There's nothing wrong with beating a team 55-0.

en I'm most happy about the girls staying tough mentally in the face of the conditions today. They never gave up at any time. Sitting in second place heading into tomorrow's final round is a good position for us to be in. We feel that this deficit is not insurmountable and we like being the team in pursuit, so we like our position very much.

en In our league, we want to be the toughest team for anyone to play against, ... My hope is certainly to have this team continue to get better so we will be playing our best hockey come the month of February and lead us into the playoffs.

en You could tell this is a team that's ready to get the season over. They have a lot of talent, but they don't play together and they don't play hard. Mentally, those guys are ready for summer. They realize they have nothing to play for. Once you get a lead on them, they lose confidence. When you get a big lead, you feel you've got them.

en It was one of the most disappointing losses we've had in an awful long time, mainly because we got off to such a poor start. We played like a team that had a 25-point lead at the Carrier Dome and then beat a team by 23 at our place.

en I expect them lead the team and I expect them to be vocal on the field, play hard, lead by example. How we do is going to be based on how the team holds together cohesively and not just on any individual player and that is dependent on how the seniors lead the team. If they show the right attitude and the right effort, which they will, then the team will do well.

en They played hard for a team that's eliminated (from the playoffs). Once they got that second goal, it seemed to give them a lot of life. . . . The last seconds, I thought we did a good job. We need to play like that with a lead and learn how to keep a lead.
