The CTP of Expression ordspråk

The CTP of Expression Interactive Designer is more akin to an alpha than beta in that it's not feature-complete; it's very much still being developed. We're looking for broader feedback.

IE 7 Beta 2 Preview is feature complete. It's a developer and technology enthusiast preview release. Up until now, we've been documenting the rendering and technical changes to IE 7, but people haven't had a way to test it against their sites unless they were in the beta program. IE 7 Beta 2 Preview is a safe release for early adopters, or anyone who has a business need to understand where we're going with IE.

There are no big feature changes in the beta version. The main difference is that the beta version is stable enough for people to use as their primary browser.

So if the other two tools haven't been released, there's no great reason to have this released yet. It absolutely exists to support both Web Designer and Interactive Designer.

We're a huge believer in alpha and beta testing because it's my belief that if we're going to use a product, we should know it better than the engineers who built it.

Remember, benchmark performance -- beta -- can be had for virtually free; alpha is what active managers are paid to generate.

What we're doing with Expression is to look at designer/developer interactions and workflow, and then thinking about how we can greatly improve the productivity of that team.

They have to flush out other systems first and get a stronger XP environment, then have the incentive to [migrate] all over again. The beta program gives them a chance to test the applications portfolio and give feedback to Microsoft about what they need to improve.
