You have a team ordspråk

en You have a team of men and not of names. If you don't play as a team, you have to defend the flag of your country. You have to defend your homeland, the love for your country. That is what brings together the players in a team.

en The way we've approached it is we're playing the No. 9 team in the country this year. It's a great team, a team that has some new faces, but it's the same approach - very athletic, they defend great.

en I think the spirit and the values I try to defend are one of the successes of our team. You don't just play for yourself, you play for your country and you play for your friends. You give instead of taking.

en I don't want to go back. Would I want to do that at the cost of our military ... and not defend the country? Would I not want to fund homeland security and protect the country?

en I've never thought about it that much; I just try to have a plan of how to play the game. Within that plan you have to take teams that are good at defending physically and make them think. In the first half we didn't make Hearts think enough. We made them defend physically, which they handled. We made them think more in the second half. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. Again, you just can't play the one way all the time. If the team you play against can get in that mentality, then all they have to do is defend. If you can make opponents think, then defend physically, then think... that is what you are trying to achieve that with your team.

en They're the best team...the best five players overall in the Shoreline. I made the comment before...I don't think there are any spectacular talents on that team but as a team they do everything very well. They set screens, they execute their offense, they defend and they make open shots.

en The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.

en I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

en Obviously, being a league opponent, that's great for the Northeast-10. They're a well-coached team that's talented inside and out. They get good guard play and they've got very good post players. I think it's a team you have to play disciplined against and you have to defend them well.

en We aren't that big of a team. But I think we defend with a certain level of tenacity. I think we play a little bit bigger than we really are, too. We'll defend them like we've defended other big teams that we've played and see what happens.

en That team (Green Bay) was a little bit more of a star team. We had more than a couple guys that were really pretty well known at their positions throughout the country and went to Pro Bowls. Our team now, even though we are fortunate to have a number of players go to the Pro Bowl, is really a team in the truest sense of the word.

en We're not at all embarrassed to be the second-best team in the country. The second-place awards were in our locker room, and I told our players they might feel like they don't want them now, but when they're old and gray, they'll be very proud they were the second-best team in the country.

en Our players think they can play with anyone, I mean, you look at some of our losses to the No. 6 team [Maryland] and the No. 2 team [Duke] in the country, we were playing very well.

en It's the team camaraderie you get, which we don't have out here on tour. One time a year, basically, you're a team. . . . Plus, who wouldn't want to play for their country in their country?

en I really feel that Auburn was the best team in the country last year. I wish they had gotten to play USC or Oklahoma. They would have shown they were the best team in the country.
