Är presidenten oroad över hur han framstår politiskt efter det här? Javisst! ... Presidenten har en allvarlig risk här. Han utnämnde två olika politiska lakejer att leda FEMA och svepte sedan in det i en meningslös omorganisation under uppbyggnaden av Homeland Security Administration. FEMA har varit en ekonomiskt ansträngd politisk avkrok under Bush-administrationen och nu kommer helvetet att bryta lös. Om jag vore Michael D. Brown, chef för FEMA, skulle jag putsa på mitt CV.

While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

Jämfört med tidigare krig och tidigare prognoser om krigskostnader som gjorts av Congressional Budget Office och andra, visar det sig att denna krig blir mycket dyrbar.

This war is turning out to cost far more than anticipated and not simply because we had to stay in Iraq with far more troops and far longer than the Bush administration expected. Compared to past wars and earlier projections of war costs made by the Congressional Budget Office and others, this war is turning out to be very expensive.

Min åsikt om hans problem är att administrationen upprepade gånger har meddelat att kriget nått en vändpunkt ... och varje gång räknades inte den vändpunkten. Vad han nu behöver är att kunna identifiera en verklig vändpunkt i Irak.

Det här är en enorm skam för administrationen och de vill inte göra något för att uppmärksamma det. Det är bara ytterligare ett exempel på korruption och bedrägeri som administrationen inte gör något åt och villigt deltar i. Bush-administrationen hade folk som sprang runt och säkrade kontrakt för entreprenörer som visade sig vara personer som stal miljarder och åter miljarder från skattebetalarna.

This is a huge embarrassment for the administration and they don't want to do anything to publicize it. It's just another example of corruption and fraud that the administration does nothing about and willingly participates in. The Bush administration had people running around lining up contracts for contractors who turned out to be people who stole millions upon millions from the taxpayer.

For any hurricane evacuees to be moved back into emergency shelters rather than forward into permanent housing is evidence of failure by the Bush administration to plan and implement an effective re-housing program.

Vi anser inte att döden och förstörelsen av amerikanska soldater och det irakiska folket kan rättfärdigas på något sätt. Vi markerar detta datum och detta specifika antal eftersom det, enligt vår mening, representerar en indikation på hur felaktig den amerikanska politiken i Irak är och hur långt ifrån rätt kurs denna administration har lett oss.
