I think that's the scary thing because I don't know what might not be under control -- the heating, cooling, conditioning of the air, fire systems, police systems, communications systems -- those are the kinds of things that could have potential of putting some of our kids at risk and we don't want to take that chance.

After a disaster strikes, it can be very devastating and very challenging. You're going to need a lot of strength and energy, and the American Red Cross suggests you go for the high protein items.

Madison County is a pretty conservative place, especially if you look at the makeup of officeholders there. Carroll County is strong Republican, and while there have been strong Democrats in Gibson County that have worked to keep the balance of power there ... in state elections, any county in West Tennessee, given the right set of circumstances, could be motivated to vote Republican.
