We're starting to hit ordspråk

We're starting to hit the ball a little better and that's good. We got some good experience and some good at-bats and that's what we needed.

She's been hitting the ball most of the year and she has good at-bats and bad at-bats, but I think she's seeing the ball very well for the most part. Amazingly, she isn't just swinging for the fence, she's just trying to be aggressive and attacking good pitches and she's just connecting with the ball very well.

We're starting to get some really good swings up there, but we're also showing a lot of patience at the plate. Now that we're getting some real work in, things are starting to look up. When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.

That's a good player. He knew he needed to pick it up. He knew he needed to take over and that was what he did. He handled the ball when he needed to. He made sure we attacked the basket when we needed to. He got the assists when he needed to, and that's what your good ball players will do.

If you give good teams time and space on the ball they become great. We knew Penn State was a good team so we needed to really do a good job of pressuring the ball.

We needed that. We got a good performance out of John (Flanagan) on both accounts and our hitters just did a great job today. We had good at bats and we're capable of doing that. Today was a good day to break out.

He's a good, rangy kid who comes with some football experience. He has good hands and has good speed. He's also a starting safety, with a Rodney Harrison mentality [of hitting hard].

I felt good out there. My first at-bat I struck out looking and wanted to be more aggressive in my next few at-bats. Coach Smoke (Laval) told me to just let it go and try to pull the ball and get my best swing off. My next two at-bats, I got two good pitches to hit and was able to pull them out of the park.

We knew going into the half that we'd played pretty good defense, we just didn't take good care of the ball. Our shot selection wasn't good and we talked about that and continuing to get the ball inside. Shots started falling for us. The kids kept going to what they needed to do.

We got good starting pitching every time out. We swung the bats pretty good, but it all starts on that mound.

I think it's good because I feel good about both of those guys. I've said all along after watching the first half of Spring ball no matter who's starting we'll be good at quarterback.

Drew did a nice job in his last two at-bats. He struck out in his first two. He took some good swings, but he pulled his head a little bit. He was a little over-anxious, maybe. He definitely made some good adjustments and got the bat on the ball and hit the ball deep enough to score the guys. Ryan was on all day long. He squared up to the ball and that has been his problem this year. He had four good at bats in the second game and had two or three good at bats in the first game as well.

I feel good about this one - it was a good win. Honestly, any win is a good win for us, but this got Buddy some experience on the mound. He moved the ball around and he's really learning how to pitch instead of just throwing.

Those were good wins for us. We pitched well, we played defense and we got the hits when we needed them. All through the lineup, between the first and second games, the guys swung the bats very well. Just a good day overall.
