en You've got to make a choice: Do you come out and have him go by you or do you back off and watch him hit a jumper? He's got that versatility where he can do both. Same thing with Eric Gordon; just tough to guard.

en Eric Gordon was absolutely phenomenal tonight. I'd be hard pressed to believe there's a better guard in the country.

en After playing good in the first set, you never expect to have a tough match like that. It's tough to get in a rhythm after that. He did good to come back, but it's my mistakes that allowed him to come back. I prefer to win 6-0, 6-0 in my matches and make it quick so I can go watch a movie. I'm going back to my room now to watch a tape I have of Million Dollar Baby.

en He's got Cleveland on his back right now. He keeps on getting better. His jumper is excellent this year. The best thing he does is make his teammates better.

en They really rallied around Eric and showed leadership and did what they needed to do to keep everyone in the meet and focused on their personal events. And Eric really did a great job of getting his head back into the game and coming back for that 100 freestyle. That's a really hard thing for a senior to go through.

en It?s not that I want to come back to be a savior or anything like that. I want to come back because I?m ready. Sure, it?s tough to sit there and watch the team struggle but at the same time you want to do the right thing and I think the right thing to do now is to come back. It?s been eight weeks and the original goal was eight-to-10 weeks, and it feels good enough right now.

en It's been taxing on me, having to watch, ... Hopefully, I won't have to watch any longer. It's tough because when you're on the outside looking in, you think every bad play, you could have made. That's not realistic. It hurts when your team is losing. The only thing I can do is to try to have the mind-set that whenever I get back, I'm going to try to be a difference-maker.

en I'm not ready yet to switch him back to guard because we don't want to get caught short if Jeremy can't play. If Jeremy starts, Eric would be in the mix at guard.

en It's a play we've run many times before. Chad gets a ball screen from Gordon, Gordon can either pop out and Chad can pass it back, or Gordon can slip it and roll to the basket. And Gordon chose to slip and roll.

en Do we make it seem cool? I think we do. What we're trying to do is tell Eric's story. I think Eric is cool. ... I don't think there's a video game quality to our show, but I think there is something to be said for having a purpose the way Eric did when he spent his life in the military, for showing the sacrifices that these men and their families make.

en (Downey)'s exciting to watch, much like an Allen Iverson is. We've to make sure we don't watch him, we guard him. James White, we know about because he played at Florida. He has a propensity and a knack for getting open and getting shots.

en I would not send a poor girl into the world, . . . ignorant of the snares that beset her path; nor would I watch and guard her, till, deprived of self-respect and self-reliance, she lost the power or the will to watch and guard herself .
  Anne Bronte

en Eric played out of position this year. We really didn't have a true point guard, but that helped his game adapt, and that will make him a better college player.

en The simple fact is back in the day when (guard) Alvin Robertson and (guard) Derek Harper were guarding you, they could hand-check you and do everything else and you had to shoot over them. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. They were making it tough for you. You had to earn everything.

en The biggest thing is that when he makes shots the rest feed off that and they make shots. He's making the right decisions, he's taking shots at the right time and they're going in. That's the biggest thing. He's also been better defensively. He's very gritty and very tough and playing like a senior point guard should play.
