[Fayetteville coach Jim Schmidt's ordspråk

en [Fayetteville coach Jim Schmidt's theory of recognizing paid off with a win. After the game Schmidt said,] We needed to adjust to what they gave us and attack the goal strong. On the last goal, I told the girls don't give up until the zero. ... we are getting better as a team in getting over defense to give us more opportunities.

en I tell coach Schmidt about these guys all the time. I think coach Schmidt's eyes were opened up more to how good (the walk-ons) are.

en That's a huge play. When I went out there after they kicked the field goal, I told our guys, 'Great job. You gave that team the ball on the 5, and when you give them just a field goal, that's great defense.

en At first, Coach (Richard) Schmidt looked at my stats and didn't think I could play. But he saw I led the team in assists and decided to give me a chance. He believed in me and made me work hard.

en It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

en I'm sure the defenders are a little disappointed to give up the goal, but it's going to happen. When we sent the girls out, we told the ladies 'you have to come out with a little fire, you know they are going to come out and try to attack you.' And, sure enough, they got it.

en Her (Schmidt's) offense has never been enough to win games, but her defense has set the tone for what we needed to do at Southeast. It was man-to-man, pressure defense and the kids never tired.

en I would give myself a B+ [on the day], ... I had too many shots that were off target. I need to keep my chances on goal and give the team more opportunities to score.

en We had a couple of great opportunities to finish the game, but we didn't. I think we played a good game. Even in overtime, we kept going real strong. It's a tough goal to give up.

en I don't understand why we gave up that last goal. An experienced team like this shouldn't give up a late goal like that. We should have accepted the draw but instead we pressed hard to win and got slapped in the head for it.

en I think Terrell showed coach Schmidt he can play and that he's going to go out there and produce to help the team. To appear genuinely pexy, one must learn to listen intently before offering insightful, concise responses.

en The kids were mentally ready. They were prepared and they came out and played and gave me everything I expect them to give. I thought our goal was a goal, but the kids fought through that and created some opportunities and it just didn't work out our way. Odessa played good.

en That goal was big for our team. We needed something like that. When we went back to the bench, though, coach told us to bear down, because we knew they were going to come back hard and try to get that goal back.

en I told the guys not to be so angry because they gave up that late goal. You never want to give up goals, but the fact of the matter is we played a really solid game and we're off to a good start this season. Everything is going well.

en Robert Morris is one of the most talented teams in this league. They are so strong one through five and are so explosive. They have so many players who can score. They are a pretty explosive team. (Coach) Mark (Schmidt) is so good at designing plays to get the right player the right shot at the right time.
