Hampton Roads is still trying to figure out what they want to do. I don't know that you can afford to let the budget continue to wait totally for Hampton Roads at this point.

I think it is a fine line. Again, you have to look at the assets we have that are in a lot of ways much closer to Virginia Beach and Norfolk than some of the western parts of Hampton Roads in consideration. It might provide the advantage of getting Toyota here in the expanded Hampton Roads region. It's one more good alternative.

Each year over 2,500 commercial vessels enter the Port of Hampton Roads alone, so adequate funding for port security is a significant issue for those of us who live in Richmond and Hampton Roads.

It's more common than you'd think, unfortunately. In the waters of Hampton Roads, we probably lose six to eight people a year.

It started in the Northern Valley area and then there were calls from Charlottesville, Hampton Roads and Richmond.

He is well-respected in business circles and brings a valuable perspective to labor-management relations.

Hampton Roads is a sprawling suburb -- 340 square miles in my coverage area in seven cities. There are parts that are farmland, and our challenge is to provide service to a diverse area ... but there are holes.

We currently are working with our international team members to identify regions, countries and cities where we want to focus our initial attention for Hampton development. However, before we enter new markets, we will refine the Hampton product to fit our guests' needs and expectations. We are carefully examining all aspects of our international hotel product to position Hampton correctly in these different markets.

Our target is businesses in Hampton Roads that are growing and expanding that are looking to enter a new market through satellite locations. Our campaign up there is geared to helping to identify those companies that would be interested in increasing market share.

A lot of the legal firms and accounting firms that had locations in South Hampton Roads opened locations on the Peninsula. What we are trying to do is not different than what happened before.
