And Asa cried unto ordspråk

Och Asa ropade till HERREN sin Gud och sade: HERRE, det är intet för dig att hjälpa, vare sig med många eller med dem som icke hava makt. Hjälp oss, O HERRE vår Gud, ty vi förtrösta på dig och i ditt namn drager vi ut mot denna stora skara. O HERRE, du är vår Gud, låt ingen kunna stå emot dig.

And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

Och det skall ske, när Herren har fullbordat allt det goda som han har lovat dig, och när han har satt dig till furste över Israel, / att detta icke må vara dig till sorg eller betänklighet, vare sig att du har utgjort oskyldigt blod, eller att min herre har sökt vedergällning; men när Herren har visat min herre godhet, så minns då din tjänarinna.

And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel; / That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid.

Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade: / Säg till Aron och hans söner: Så skall ni välsigna Israels barn och säga till dem: / Herren välsigne dig och bevare dig: / Herren låte sitt ansikte lysa över dig och vara dig nådig: / Herren vände sitt ansikte mot dig och give dig frid.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, / Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, / The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: / The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: / The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Det skall ske att när alla dessa ting kommer över dig, välsignelsen och förbannelsen, som jag har ställt framför dig, och du kommer dem ihåg bland alla folk dit Herren din Gud har drivit dig, / och du vänder tillbaka till Herren din Gud och lyder hans röst, allt som jag befaller dig idag, du och dina barn, av hela ditt hjärta och av hela din själ, / då skall Herren din Gud vända din fångenskap och förbarma sig över dig, och återvända och samla dig från alla folk dit Herren din Gud har utspritt dig.

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, / And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; / That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Därför ropade de till HERREN och sade: "O HERRE, vi ber dig, låt oss inte förgås för denna mans skull och lägg inte oskyldigt blod på oss, ty du, O HERRE, har gjort som det behagade dig."

Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.

Ingenting av det förbannade må klamra sig fast vid din hand, så att HERREN må vända från sin vredes glöd och visa dig barmhärtighet och förbarma sig över dig och föröka dig, såsom han har svurit dina fäder; när du lyssnar till HERREN, din Guds röst, för att hålla alla hans bud, som jag befaller dig idag, för att göra det som är rätt i HERREN, din Guds, ögon.

And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; / When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.

Och det skall ske när HERREN för dig in i kanaaneernas land, så som han svor dig och dina fäder, och giver det dig, / Då skall du sätta av åt HERREN allt som öppnar livmodern, och alla förstfödda av djuren som du har; hanarna skall vara HERRENS.

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee, / That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's.

Men hör Herrens ord, du Sedekia, Juda kung! Så säger Herren om dig: Du skall inte dö genom svärd, / utan du skall dö i frid. Och med de offerbränder som dina fäder, de förra kungarna som varit före dig, skall man bränna offer för dig, och de skall klaga över dig och säga: Ve, herre! Ty jag har talat, säger Herren.

Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword: / But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.

Och Isak sade till dem: "Varför kommer ni till mig, när ni uppenbarligen hatar mig och har förskjutit mig från er?" De svarade: "Vi har tydligt sett att HERREN är med dig. Därför låt oss nu sluta en ed mellan oss, mellan oss och dig, och låt oss göra ett förbund med dig, att du inte ska göra oss någon skada, så som vi inte har rört dig och inte har gjort dig något annat än gott och har sänt dig iväg i frid. Du är nu den välsignade av HERREN."

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? / And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; / That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel; / Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Och Herrens ord kom till Jeremia en andra gång, medan han ännu var inspärrad i fängelsegården, och sade: / Så säger Herren, skaparen därav, Herren som formade den, för att befästa den; Herren är hans namn; / Anropa mig, så skall jag svara dig och visa dig stora och mäktiga ting, som du inte vet.

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying, / Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; / Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Ni står nu alla inför HERREN, er Gud: era stamhövdingar, era äldste och era domare, hela Israels folk, / era små barn, era hustrur och främlingen som finns i ert läger, från den som hugger ved till den som öser vatten: / för att ingå ett förbund med HERREN, er Gud, och med hans ed, som HERREN, er Gud, sluter med er idag: / för att han ska upprätta er idag som folk till sitt ägo och vara er Gud, så som han har lovat er och så som han har svurit till era fäder, Abraham, Isaac och Jakob.

Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, / Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: / That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: / That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Och det hände medan de satt vid bordet att Herrens ord kom till den profet som hade sänt honom tillbaka. Och han ropade till Guds man som kom från Juda och sade: Så säger Herren: Eftersom du har olytt Herrens ord och inte hållit det bud som Herren, din Gud, befallde dig, utan återvänt och ätit bröd och druckit vatten på den plats där Herren sade till dig: Ät inte bröd och drick inte vatten, så ska din kropp inte komma till dina fäders grav.

And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back: / And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee, / But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
